The Grateful Dead reach an incredible milestone with their new album

The Grateful Dead is back! The band continues to build billboard With their several ongoing live series, they are conquering the charts and their still huge fan base buys every new recording they release in large numbers. As the group returns with their latest live album, they reach a very special milestone.

Dave’s Picks Vol. 50: Palladium, New York City, NY 05/03/77 Debuts on the billboard This week saw the Grateful Dead hit the charts, bringing the Grateful Dead back into the weekly rankings. The set explodes onto four different levels and thanks to its impressive starting point, the track has become another very special release for the group.

The Grateful Dead’s latest project starts at number 2 on the top album sales charts. According to Luminate, the set sold 20,390 copies in the first tracking frame.

Coming in at number two in the country’s best-selling feature films and EPs, Dave’s Picks Vol. 50 becomes the fortieth Grateful Dead hit to chart in the top 10 of the top album sales charts. That’s a huge collection of bestsellers – one that few, if any, other artists have achieved in the past.

Dave’s Picks Vol. 50 It came just one spot shy of becoming the Grateful Dead’s third No. 1 on the Top Album Sales list… but it wasn’t actually a close race. The jam band lost to Taylor Swift, whose The Tortured Poets Department was once again an easy winner. In the second round of this tally, Swift’s latest sold nearly 107,000 copies – or more than five times what the Grateful Dead managed.

Dave’s Picks Vol. 50 debuts highest on the Top Album Sales list, but is also a quick winner in two other rankings. The latest live offering from the jam legends starts in the top 10 of the top rock albums (number 6) and the top rock and alternative albums (number 7).

On the Billboard 200, Dave’s Picks Vol. 50 is new at number 32. This ranking takes into account all forms of consumption, as the new Grateful Dead album was only available for purchase. This circumstance diminished its chances of advancing much higher than within the tier it eventually found itself in, but it’s still another notable win for the group.
