Music Midtown, Atlanta’s popular music festival, canceled this year

Music festival that draws tens of thousands to Atlanta’s Piedmont Park won’t happen this year

ATLANTA — A music festival that draws tens of thousands of people to Atlanta’s Piedmont Park won’t happen this year.

Posts Wednesday on the Instagram page and website of Music Midtown, a longtime venue for pop music fans, say the festival is “taking a break this year.”

The messages didn’t explain why. An email to the festival’s producer, Live Nation, was not immediately returned.

The festival has featured some great artists over the years, including Pearl Jam and Coldplay. Last year’s lineup included Billie Eilish and Guns N’ Roses.

The festival was also canceled in 2022. Media outlets, citing anonymous sources, attributed the decision to a Georgia Supreme Court ruling that defined limits on the ability of private businesses to ban guns on public property .
