Repeat offender arrested in Nashville, Tennessee; illegal weapons and drugs seized

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two teenagers were arrested Thursday afternoon in connection with an ongoing investigation into vehicle thefts and the sale of weapons and illegal drugs.

Metro police said 19-year-old Omar Diouf was arrested after leaving his home on Ransom Place. Diouf refused orders to stop and ran away, throwing a loaded handgun to the ground as he ran, before being arrested a short time later.

Police added the gun had been reported stolen. A 3D printed switch used to make a rifle automatic was also found in Diouf’s pants.

According to investigators, officers also executed a search warrant at Diouf’s Ransom Place home and found a 3D printer, five programmers and hundreds of key fobs.

Police said Thierry Bwenge, also 19, was arrested near his home on Thornehill Drive. Officers also executed a search warrant at Bwenge’s home and found several firearm parts, firearm magazines, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, three bags of uncut key fobs, a car key programmer, a backpack containing psilocybin mushrooms and a black key fob. Seven guns were also found wrapped in carpets in the garage, two of which had been reported stolen.

Both Diouf and Bwenge are charged with multiple counts of aggravated possession of a weapon, theft of a firearm and possession of burglary tools.

Bwenge remains in jail on a $196,000 bond.

Diouf is being held on $160,000 bond and is also charged with auto theft. He is believed to have been driving a stolen Infiniti G37 that investigators attempted to stop on Murfreesboro Pike on April 26, but the driver, identified as Diouf, sped off, striking a school bus.

In December 2023, Bwenge was one of three teenagers caught with two stolen cars, six guns and 19 key fobs.

In February 2024, Diouf and Bwenge also allegedly stole an Instacart driver’s car in Franklin.
