One dead after accident near Florence

FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says a Florence man is dead after a car accident near Florence.

ALEA said 39-year-old Jared Box was fatally injured when the 2020 GMC Yukon he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree around 7 a.m. Friday.

According to authorities, the accident occurred on Alabama 133 near Lewis Bruce Road, about a mile north of Florence.

ALEA said Box was pronounced dead at the scene.

The agency said no further information is available at this time as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
