Undocumented immigrant charged with sexual abuse of child in Abilene | KTAB

TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An undocumented immigrant accused of sexually abusing a child in Abilene has been arrested.

Roberto Javier Toruno-Cruz was taken into custody on a warrant for sexual abuse of a child and immigration charges related to an incident in March.

Court documents show that a mother contacted police and said she found videos on her 14-year-old daughter’s cellphone showing an adult performing sexual acts on her.

That mother gave investigators a phone number associated with the videos, which helped them identify Toruno-Cruz as a suspect.

Investigators interviewed the victim, and documents say she met a man at a party and agreed to engage in sexual acts with him while he was videotaping. She also described several instances of sexual harassment.

Toruno-Cruz remains held without bail in the Taylor County Jail.
