Atlanta United Signs Russian Point Guard as Designated Player

Miranchuk meets these goals.

Miranchuk began his career with Lokomotiv Moscow in his native Russia. He transferred to Atalanta in September 2020. He was loaned to Torino in August 2022 and joined Atalanta in June 2023. He has made five Champions League appearances for Atalanta. He has scored 63 goals and provided 71 assists in all competitions, including 13 goals and 19 assists in 98 appearances for Atalanta. He has made 45 appearances and scored seven goals for Russia.

Atlanta United has one more player to sign, a forward to replace Giakoumakis, who was sold to Cruz Azul for $10 million. The transfer window closes on August 14. Atlanta United will resume its MLS season at the LA Galaxy on August 25. It has nine games remaining.

Replacing Almada will not be easy. Before being sold to Botafogo for at least $21 million, Almada finished his career with 24 goals and 34 assists in 79 regular-season and playoff appearances.
