The 35-year-old has written an essay about empowerment following strong reactions to her nude selfie, which is not suitable for the workplace.

The in-depth article came just hours after Kardashian was involved in several Twitter arguments with fans and celebrities such as Bette Midler and Chloë Grace Moretz for setting a bad example for women on International Women’s Day.

“Hey guys. I wanted to write a post addressing my tweets from last night,” Kardashian wrote in the essay.

“Seriously, I never understand why people get so upset about what other people do with their lives. I don’t do drugs, I barely drink, I’ve never committed a crime – and yet I’m a terrible role model when it comes to being proud of my body? It always seems to come back to my sex tape. Yes, a sex tape made 13 years ago. 13 YEARS AGO. Literally soooo long ago. And people still want to talk about it?!?!” Kardashian continued.

“I went through the embarrassment and the fear and decided to say, who cares, do better, move on. I shouldn’t have to constantly be on the defensive and list my accomplishments just to prove that I’m more than something that happened 13 years ago.

“Let’s move on. I did,” she said.

“My body gives me strength. My sexuality gives me strength. I give myself strength because I’m comfortable in my skin. I give myself strength because I show the world my flaws and I’m not afraid of what anyone will say about me. And I hope that through this platform that I’ve been given, I can encourage that same strength in girls and women all over the world.

My husband gives me strength, he is so tolerant and supportive and has given me new self-confidence. He lets me be myself and loves me unconditionally.

I am so lucky to have grown up surrounded by strong, ambitious and independent women. The life lessons I learned from my sisters, mother and grandmother are things I will pass on to my daughter. I want her to be proud of who she is. I want her to feel comfortable in her body. I don’t want her to grow up in a world where she feels inferior while embracing everything it means to be a woman.

It’s 2016. The body shaming and slut shaming – it’s like enough is enough. I’m not going to live my life based on the problems you have with my sexuality. Be yourself and let me be me.

I am a mother. I am a wife, a sister, a daughter, an entrepreneur and I am allowed to be sexy.

  1. Happy International Women’s Day”
