“No doubt” that Malik Nabers will reach 100 targets, says Giants insider

Malik Nabers is already making a lasting impression at the New York Giants training camp.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the first-round wide receiver of the 2024 draft appears to be ready for an important role and a great rookie season with New York:

“It doesn’t take long to see and hear the difference between a sedan and a Porsche as the cars drive by. Nabers is not a sedan. ‘I mean, you saw him out there,’ a team source said when asked about Nabers’ immediate impact. ‘We’re very pleased with him.’ There’s no doubt he’ll surpass 100 targets when healthy. And it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Giants use the quick passing game and play-action quite a bit, given the problems protecting (Daniel) Jones. That would provide opportunities for Nabers after the catch.”

However, Jones’ limitations could limit Nabers’ overall potential for fantasy players.

Fowler wrote: “The question is whether Jones, whose style of play is underrated, can handle Nabers in the field. Jones referred to Nabers as ‘super talented’ twice in my conversation. ‘I’m excited about him,’ Jones said. ‘We still have a lot of work to do together to build chemistry and be on the same page, but he’s super talented.'”

Fantasy players must analyze many different factors when deciding whether a rookie wide receiver will be successful in his first year. The quarterback’s play, team strategy, competition for targets, a player’s overall potential based on his talent and college performance, etc. are all taken into account.

New York’s quarterback play is undoubtedly questionable. But Nabers will be the frontrunner in this passing game from the start, and he has explosive talent. It wouldn’t be a surprise if he’s the best fantasy option among rookie wideouts this season.
