Pedestrian found dead in Metro subway tunnel in Studio City

On Saturday, a person was found dead in a subway tunnel in Studio City.

Emergency crews responded to the Universal City/Studio City Station at around 3:40 p.m. to gain access to an area between Universal City and North Hollywood.


Firefighters in Los Angeles found a person in the Red Line subway tunnel. The person was “beyond medical care” and was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unclear how the person died. Neither the extent of their injuries nor their identity have been released.

“This incident will be referred to law enforcement and the Los Angeles County Coroner,” Los Angeles Fire Department officials said.

Expected disruptions on the Red Line are currently not known.
