Man missing after boating accident in Sodus Bay – Finger Lakes Daily News

Wayne County Sheriff’s officials said a search is underway in Sodus Bay for a person who was thrown from a motorboat Sunday evening.

Deputies say the boat made a sharp turn and ejected two people. Police say a woman was rescued from the bay and flown to the hospital by Mercy Flight. Meanwhile, police are still searching for the male boat operator.

The search involves the Marine Patrol and the Sheriff’s Dive Team. The search will continue today. Several agencies, including the New York State Police Aviation Unit and the U.S. Coast Guard, assisted in the search last night.

Other emergency personnel on scene included Sodus Point, Alton and North Rose fire departments, Eastern Wayne and Silver Waters EMS, Wayne County EMS and Mercy Flight.
