Man in Tolleson presumed dead after collision with car

TOLLESON, AZ (AZFamily) – A man has died after he was possibly struck by a vehicle in Tolleson overnight.

Police said officers responded to reports of a person being struck by a car near 96th Avenue and Jefferson Street around 3:50 a.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man dead in the roadway, possibly after being hit by a car, Tolleson police Lt. Lee Garrett said.

The detectives are still on site and are conducting intensive investigations.

No further information was provided, including the man’s identity.

The accident occurred near Tolleson Union High School, but students are not yet back in class.

Arizona’s family is en route to the scene of the accident and we will update you as soon as we know more.
