Alexander City Police have made an arrest in connection with a murder that occurred last month.

Sergeant Drew Machen tells Action 8 News that 27-year-old Keyuntae Marquise Bealey of Childersburg was taken into custody for the shooting death of 26-year-old Chavorian Williams of Tallassee.

Officers with the Alexander City Police Department were called to a local hospital at approximately 1:50 a.m. on Sunday, June 23, for an adult male being treated for a life-threatening gunshot wound.

Williams later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Investigators later determined that the shooting occurred at a birthday party and social event called “Freaknik” at about 1:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of Dadeville Road.

With the assistance of the United States Marshals Task Force, investigators were able to locate Bealey in Kent County, Michigan.

Bealey is currently in the Kent County Jail awaiting an extradition hearing before being extradited back to Alabama to face charges.
