Drew McIntyre still suspended after WWE Raw

Drew McIntyre’s suspension was still pending following the July 15 episode of Monday Night Raw.

McIntyre has been suspended since the Money in the Bank post-show, when he punched Raw General Manager Adam Pearce and knocked down several referees. Pearce suspended McIntyre, but then, at the urging of CM Punk, agreed to bring him back to Raw for a summit match.

Pearce discussed the possible reinstatement of McIntyre on July 15, noting that everyone wants to see Drew face CM Punk in the ring. McIntyre noted that he wanted the match too, but he refused to apologize, arguing that he didn’t care about anything the referees had done since WrestleMania and that it all happened under the watch of Adam Pearce.

The former WWE Champion grew increasingly angry, prompting Adam Pearce to announce that McIntyre was still suspended. This led to Drew knocking over referee Rod Zapata before a loud scuffle began between Drew and the Raw GM. Just as McIntyre was about to hit Pearce, Seth Rollins, like a good company man, ran to the ring to save his boss.

Rollins ultimately got the upper hand over Drew in this exchange and celebrated with the crowd and Pat McAfee, ending the segment with his head held high.

CM Punk will return to Monday Night Raw next week. The current plan is for CM Punk to face Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam, but the match is not 100 percent certain as Punk has yet to be cleared to return to the ring following his torn triceps in January.
