Egyptian President comments on shooting at Trump rally

CAIRO – July 14, 2024: “I have followed with great concern the heinous incident involving former US President and potential candidate Donald Trump. I stress Egypt’s condemnation and wish for a speedy recovery. I hope for a continuation of the election campaign in a peaceful and healthy climate without incidents of terrorism, violence or hatred,” President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi said on social media.

The gunman killed one participant in Trump’s speech in Pennsylvania and injured two others. The former US president also suffered a minor injury to his ear. The Secret Service killed the attacker.
