Man in his 30s dies in work accident

A man in his thirties has died in an industrial accident in Buncrana, County Donegal.

His local name is Anthony Devlin from the slave quarter of the city.

The Gardaí (Irish police) said they responded to the incident on Tuesday evening and Mr Devlin died at the scene.

“The local coroner has been notified and an autopsy will take place in due course,” a spokesman added.

The HSA (Health Safety Authority) has been notified and is conducting its own investigation.

The funeral mass for Mr Devlin will be held on Saturday at St Mary’s Church, Cockhill.
