Illinois man arrested at Swan Lake Golf Course for domestic violence

County police arrested an Illinois man after being dispatched to Swan Lake Golf Course on a domestic violence charge.

On Saturday, July 6th At around 4:45 p.m., county officials were called to the golf course because of a physical altercation.

After an investigation and interview with witnesses, the suspect, 61-year-old Eugene Cecconi of Plainfield, Illinois, was taken into custody on domestic violence charges and booked into the Marshall County Jail.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only a reasonable suspicion to believe that a crime has been committed. Defendants are presumed innocent throughout the trial and are entitled to legal representation and to a jury trial, where the State is required to present evidence beyond a reasonable doubt before a verdict of guilt can be entered.
