Pedestrian hit and killed in Louisville on Monday afternoon, police said

LOUISVILLE, Colorado – A pedestrian was struck and killed in Louisville Monday afternoon, according to city police.

Louisville police responded to the fatal crash near the intersection of Sagebrush Way and Via Appaia Way around 5:45 p.m. Monday.

According to a press release, officers on the scene spoke with a 65-year-old woman who was reportedly traveling east on the Via Appia when the pedestrian was struck and killed.

The driver is still at the scene of the accident and is cooperating with the investigation, officials said. They added that Boulder County Coroner’s Office personnel are also on site and have notified the victim’s family.

In addition, Boulder County victim advocates and Louisville Police Department personnel are assisting the victim’s family and the driver, officials said.
