Gang rape: 17-year-old raped in moving car in Sirohi | Jodhpur News

Jodhpur: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped in a moving car in Sirohi on Wednesday. She narrated her plight to her parents following which charges were filed against the two at Paldi M police station in the district on Thursday. SP (Sirohi) Anil Beniwal said charges have been filed against the two under the POCSO Act and other relevant sections and investigations have been initiated. “We have conducted medical examination of the rape survivors and recorded their statements.” “Teams have been deputed to search for the accused,” Beniwal said. According to the complaint, the rape victim was picked up from her house late at night on July 2 by two persons on the pretext of asking for an address. “They came to her house and knocked on the door. When she answered, they enquired about an address and abruptly pushed her into the car by covering her mouth. They then took turns to rape her in a moving car and dropped her at her house in a pitiful condition around midnight,” the complaint said. She went to bed silently in a state of trauma and narrated the incident to her parents the next morning. The shocked parents then approached SP Beniwal, on whose instructions a case was filed against the accused at Paldi M police station on July 3. The accused, who hails from the same village as the rape victim, is said to have pressured her family into a compromise and offered them money to hush up the case. Beniwal, however, said the police had no such information and assured that appropriate action would be taken if the allegations were found to be confirmed.
