At least 1 dead in car crash on southwest side; IMPD investigating – Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather | Indiana Traffic

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — At least one person died in a multi-vehicle crash in southwest Indianapolis early Saturday morning.

Online police reports indicate that officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 1200 block of South Reisner Street near Harding Street shortly after midnight Saturday to investigate a crash involving injuries. The call type for the crash was later changed to “fatal accident.”

According to News 8, a news anchor present at the scene, at least five cars were apparently involved in the accident.

Police have not yet been able to determine the identity of the deceased person, but police reports indicate that one person has been arrested in connection with the incident.

It was unclear what led to the incident and whether anyone else was injured.
