Indiana men’s basketball: Parker Stewart joins Atlanta Hawks

Former Indiana men’s basketball guard Parker Stewart has joined the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks as a development, advanced scouting and video associate, according to his Twitter profile.

There are plenty of ties between Georgia State and the program. Atlanta hosted the Hoosiers for a year-end Thanksgiving event, and several members of this year’s team (Kanaan Carlyle, Myles Rice, Jakai Newton) call the Peach State home.

Mike Woodson landed his first head coaching job with the Hawks in 2004 and, as mentioned several times, resides in Atlanta. Additionally, associate head coach Yasir Rosemond is an Atlanta native.

Stewart spent just two years with the Hoosiers, joining the team as a midseason transfer in 2020 under Archie Miller before entering and exiting the transfer portal when Woodson was hired this offseason. He started 31 of 34 games in the 2021-22 season and averaged 6.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1 assist per game.
