Five teenagers arrested after police chase in Medford – NBC Boston

Five teenagers were arrested Thursday following a reported shoplifting and police chase in Medford, Massachusetts.

Medford police said they responded to a report of shoplifting at DICK’s Sporting Goods at 3850 Mystic Valley Parkway around 11 a.m.

According to authorities, a store employee provided information about the car and it was confirmed that the vehicle had previously been reported stolen in Belmont.

Police said they found the vehicle and pursued it at a high rate of speed onto Commercial Street and then onto Route 16 west to Winthrop Street and High Street until it reached Alto Drive and the vehicle crashed through the fence of a home.

Two teenagers were initially arrested while three others fled. However, according to authorities, they were found and arrested shortly afterward.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The charges against the teenager are currently still pending.
