1 dead and 4 injured in boat accident in Long Beach

One person died and four were hospitalized in a boating accident in Long Beach on Wednesday, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.

It happened around 10:15 p.m. in Alamitos Bay. Lifeguards and firefighters assisting with the water rescue said the boat crashed into the dock off Marina Way.

The identity of the deceased victim was not disclosed. Four other people suffered serious injuries.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
