Dangerous heat persists this week

HOUSTON – It’s no secret that Houston summers can be hot. Really hot.

Over the past week we have seen temperatures climb into the 90s with temperatures feeling like they are reaching triple digits.

On Sunday, temperatures, or the heat index, reached 114°F in parts of the Houston area.

While the situation shows no signs of getting better, it is more important than ever to take care of your neighbors and those who need it most.

Along with photojournalist Michael Lemons, KPRC 2’s Gage Goulding reached out to the most vulnerable in our community, offering ice-cold drinking water to help those experiencing homelessness stay cool and hydrated.
