NSP provides update on Crete shooting investigation

LINCOLN, Nebraska (KOLN) – The Nebraska State Patrol, Crete Police Department and Saline County Sheriff’s Department will hold a press conference to provide an update on the investigation into the shooting that occurred Friday afternoon in Crete.

The press conference will be shown at 1:30 p.m. in the video player above.

According to NSP, six people were shot at a home near Parklane Street and Crestline Drive on Friday. At around 4:35 p.m., authorities received several 911 calls about a shooting in the area. Three adults and three children were found with gunshot wounds when authorities heard a gunshot in a neighboring home.

Eventually, officers entered the neighboring house and found a suspect dead. He had presumably inflicted a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A single shotgun was found at the scene.

The victims were taken to several area hospitals, including Bryan West and Children’s Hospital in Omaha. All six victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to survive.
