Dallas Police investigator involved in shooting in Far North Dallas

Dallas police officials were investigating a shooting of an officer late Friday in far north Dallas.

More than a dozen police vehicles responded to the Rock Creek Apartments in the 5800 block of Belt Line Road, near Preston Road, before 10 p.m. The complex borders White Rock Creek.

Police did not provide information about the shooting or whether there were any injuries. They said more details would be released at a news conference Friday evening.

Two Dallas police officers stood outside the entrance to the complex and asked residents to park elsewhere. A Dallas Animal Services vehicle drove away from the scene around 10:30 p.m. while detectives and top law enforcement officials gathered in a parking lot between the apartment buildings.

At least three officers walked along a path next to the creek with flashlights.
