Months after his release from prison, this violent child molester was arrested again

But last week he allegedly pulled a knife on a man and violated his curfew, Washington Supreme Court was told on Tuesday. He told his lawyer, David McKenzie, he wanted to go back to prison.

The court was told that it was not unreasonable to assume that someone who had spent 22 years in prison would have difficulty adjusting to life in society, so reports were commissioned to establish why his transition had not gone according to plan.

Before the hearing, White told his lawyer via video link from Hakea Prison that he did not want to be present during the hearing and asked to be allowed to return to his cell. He then left the hearing in the middle and reappeared a short time later.

In November, White was ordered to report to prison on a regular basis and be electronically monitored.

His internet access was also restricted.

While White was out on bail for a rape charge in the 1980s, he attempted to attack another woman in her home, stabbing her with a knife.

He was imprisoned in South Australia before moving to WA.

After his 2001 conviction for assault, sexual penetration without consent and attempted murder, White was classified as a high-risk sex offender.

Last year, ABC reported that White had undergone a series of programs and psychological evaluations during his prison sentence, including a stay at the Frankland Centre, a forensic clinic.

A psychologist said White, now 58, has made progress in managing his emotions and living an independent life.

Judge Michael Lundberg said White will have to engage in prosecution after his release from prison.

“In all circumstances, there are compelling arguments to support the conclusion that the defendant is a high-risk offender and a serious criminal,” he said.

He will appear in court again on July 6.
