Current investigations by the Panama City Beach Police Chief are ongoing

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) – It appears the investigation into Panama City Beach Police Chief JR Talamantez is nearing completion.

City Manager Drew Whitman said he plans to release the results of that investigation on Monday.

Last Monday, Whitman announced that he had received a complaint about Talamantez and was investigating it. He did not disclose what the complaint was. He said he had placed Talamantez on leave with pay and appointed Deputy Police Chief Chad Lindsey as acting police chief.

Talamantez posted a message on his personal Facebook page essentially saying, “Don’t panic and have faith in the process.”

News 13 tried to reach Talamantez and Whitman on Friday, but they did not respond.

News 13 will report on the latest developments on Monday.
