Pedestrian killed after crash with semi-trailer on I-15 in Las Vegas

UPDATE: As of 10:30 p.m., the leftmost lanes of northbound I-15 are open to traffic, but the two rightmost lanes are still closed because active crews are on duty there. Drivers are asked to slow down and use caution, according to NSP.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – One person was killed in an accident involving a pedestrian and a semi-trailer truck on Interstate 15.


It happened around 6 p.m. Thursday on I-15 northbound between Russell Road and Tropicana Avenue.

A white semi-trailer truck was involved in the accident, NSP said.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the accident to contact Nevada State Police at *NHP or 702-486-4100, extension 6.

Shortly after 8 p.m., Nevada State Police said all northbound lanes from Russell Road to Tropicana Avenue along I-15 were closed due to the investigation. Traffic is being diverted to the Collector District lanes via the Russell Road exit ramp. Motorists should avoid the area as closures will remain in place until at least 10 p.m.

The accident occurred hours after another fatal crash in the northwest valley near 215 west of Jones Boulevard.
