First picture of a child molester who locked a girl in a train toilet

A “predator” who locked and raped a 14-year-old girl in a train toilet has been sentenced to ten years in prison. Awsaf Ahmed even messaged the teenager the next day, asking her if she “enjoyed” his disgusting sexual assault.

Ahmed, aged 30, of Rutland Avenue, High Wycombe, was found guilty by a jury of rape of a woman under 16 and inducing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity at Inner London Crown Court on 24 April. Ahmed had already pleaded guilty to inducing/inducing a child to engage in sexual activity at an earlier hearing.

On Monday 17 June, he was sentenced to ten years in prison at Inner London Crown Court. He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life and given a sexual harm prevention order.

The court heard that the victim was on a train heading to London’s Marylebone station when Ahmed entered the carriage. Ahmed engaged the victim and her friends in conversation, asking them their age and whether they smoked weed.

Ahmed then put pressure on the victim to get her to be alone with him by forcing her to speak to him privately in the toilet and insinuating that he had friends everywhere, causing her to fear for her friend’s safety. When they entered the toilet, Ahmed locked her in and raped her despite her repeated requests to stop.

After the attack, he added her on Snapchat to maintain contact with her. The victim reported the rape to British Transport Police the next day. Later that evening, Ahmed called the victim on Snapchat and asked her: “When are you turning 16?” and “Did you enjoy yesterday?”.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Matthew Nolan of the BTP said: “Ahmed is a callous sexual predator who targeted young girls for his own sexual gratification. Despite the victim’s repeated pleas to stop, he captured and raped her, leaving her fearing not only for herself but for the safety of her friend. I hope this outcome helps her to graduate with some degree.”

Less than a week later, Bedfordshire Police received a report of an incident involving Ahmed. The court heard Ahmed attempted to entice a 15-year-old girl into sexual acts. He initially engaged her in conversation about her jewellery and where she was from before the conversation became more threatening and he told the victim that everyone had it in them to kill and that if they were disrespectful he could make someone disappear with just a text or phone call.

He then turned the conversation to relationships, asking the 15-year-old for relationship advice and then asking her about her own relationship status and sexual experiences. He then attempted to force her to engage in sexual activity with him. Fortunately, the victim was able to leave the situation and report Ahmed to Bedfordshire Police the following day.

BTP lead investigator Detective Inspector Paul Attwell said: “These were extremely frightening experiences for Ahmed’s victims and I commend them for reporting him so we could act. Ahmed’s compulsive and threatening behaviour towards young, vulnerable girls will never be tolerated on the rail network or anywhere else and I am grateful to see this verdict.”
