One person killed in shooting in West Charlotte

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said a woman was killed on Glenwood Drive late Sunday night.

MEDIC confirmed that one person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries as a result of a shooting at approximately 10:30 p.m. Shortly afterward, CMPD said detectives were investigating a homicide on Glenwood Drive near I-85.

Until the early hours of Monday morning, Channel 9 crews observed several CMPD patrol cars in front of the EconoLodge.

CMPD did not immediately provide information on what caused the shooting or whether anyone has been charged.
