Albany man arrested for drug possession

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10)– Police arrested an Albany man for drug possession during a traffic stop for unspecified traffic violations. Police said Cornell Thorpe, 47, allegedly had both cocaine and fentanyl on him during the traffic stop, leading to his arrest.

According to police, Thrope had about 31 grams of cocaine and 170 bags of fentanyl, which totals five grams. Police also said the drugs were intended for distribution based on both the quantity and dozens of plastic capsules commonly used to package narcotics.


Thorpe was remanded to the Albany County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Friday.
