Man attacks woman and is arrested near East Central Spokane

According to SPD, the woman called 911 and asked for help for the man, who, according to SPD, managed to get up and walk to the woman’s car.

SPOKANE, Wash. – A man was arrested after attacking a woman who tried to help him near East Central Spokane last Saturday, according to police.

According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), officers responded to reports of a possible assault at the corner of Napa Street and Trent Avenue around 7 a.m. on Saturday, June 8. According to SPD, officers learned that a woman was driving northbound on Napa Street at the corner of Trent Avenue when she stopped at a red light and saw a man stumble across the road and fall in the middle of traffic.

According to SPD, the woman called 911 and asked for help for the man, who, according to SPD, managed to get up and walk to the woman’s car.

The man on the street told the woman he needed water, and the woman got out of her car when another car arrived with another man driving, who gave the woman a water bottle.

According to SPD, the woman gave the man water, after which he drove off the road and ran straight into a concrete wall and fell to the ground. According to SPD, the woman went to the man and offered to help him when he pulled her to the ground and began to strangle her.

According to SPD, the driver ran over and pulled the other man off the woman. According to SPD, the man continued to try to pull her out of the car while the driver tried to pull him away.

The SPD said the woman drove off and officers found injuries to her neck.

The SPD has found sufficient suspicion to arrest 28-year-old Robert M. Fisher for second-degree assault.

According to SPD, Fisher was taken to a local hospital and later booked into the Spokane County Jail.
