Heavy metal gods Judas Priest rock Houston on new fall tour

Remember when Beavis and Butthead I used to rock every time MTV played a Judas Priest video? This fall, Houstonians will have the chance to do just that when the heavy metal legends come to town for a live concert, sure to be very loud.

Tuesday, June 11, Judas Priest, inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fameannounced a new stop on their Invincible Shield Tour with special guest Sabaton. The all-time greats will conquer new markets in North America this fall with 23 additional performances. All shows will feature music from Invincible Shieldtheir recently released 19th studio album, as well as all their classic hits like Breaking the Law, Painkiller and You’ve Got Another Thing Coming.

The tour includes three stops in Texas:

  • October 22: Smart Financial Center in Sugar Land
  • October 24: Germania Insurance Amphitheater in Austin
  • October 26: The Toyota Music Factory Pavilion in Irving

The metal gods from Birmingham (England, not Alabama) have spent over 50 years building a legendary career. Despite lineup changes and various challenges, the group’s resilience remained unwavering. In 2018, Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, Richie Faulkner, Ian Hill and Scott Travis released Firepower which became one of their most successful albums, supported by an extensive world tour.

Amid health concerns and the pandemic, they persevered with a 50th anniversary tour and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022. Following a headlining performance at the 2023 PowerTrip Music Festival and the release of ShieldJudas Priest continues to carry their heavy metal legacy into 2024 and beyond.

Tickets will be available from an artist pre-sale starting Wednesday, June 12. Additional pre-sales will take place throughout the week ahead of the general on-sale which begins Friday at 10 a.m. at judaspriestinvincibleshield.com.
