Suspect arrested in car theft, kidnapping and rape in Otter Tail County | The Mighty 790 KFGO

DALTON, Minnesota (KFGO) – A man wanted by Minneapolis Park Police is in the Hennepin County Jail following a lengthy police search southeast of Fergus Falls.

Eliezer Rodriguez, 31, of Hutchinson, is charged with kidnapping, sexual assault and auto theft in Minneapolis. Park Police say Rodriguez is accused of carjacking, kidnapping and raping a woman at knifepoint on Cedar Lake Parkway last Friday afternoon.

Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Lt. Bob Huckeby said Rodriguez was caught on foot Saturday afternoon in a wooded area near the Hansel Lake rest stop on I-94. A car related to the case was found at the rest stop.

Huckeby says the sheriff’s office was assisted by Douglas County officials, state police and DNR conservation officers. An airplane and drone were used to track down Rodriguez.
