New Yorkers hate it when you do this at a festival

If you’re heading to one of the amazing summer festivals happening over the next few months, DON’T BE THAT PERSON!

There’s something people do at outdoor festivals that might be the most boring thing ever. It happens at every major festival and drives people crazy.

This is when there is a line of people going through the festival and a group of people decide to stop. They obstruct traffic and disrupt the flow of people moving around the festival.

To me it’s like you’re driving on 90 and you decide to stop your car. You block all the people behind you.

If you see something you want to look at or something you want to buy, you need to move to the side and then stop. It’s like getting off the 90. Take the ramp and move away from traffic.

This happened to me several times last weekend at the Allentown Arts Festival. There were thousands of people walking around Allentown enjoying all the amazing artwork and vendors, but there were two lines of people moving around during the massive festival.

Many times people would see something and stop. This would block everyone behind them. If these people had simply moved to the side and then stopped, traffic would have been stopped.

Also, to people who stop just to talk to someone they see, please step to the side. Again, when three or four people stop, it disturbs the people behind them.

So this summer, do the right thing and if people are lining up around the festival, don’t stop. Take a step to the side, exit the line and then stop.

THANKS!
