Dayton Police Department announces several changes in command structure – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

DAYTON – The Dayton Police Department has announced it is making changes to its command structure.

There will now be two senior majors in the patrol operations division, according to a department spokesman.

Major Jason Hall will oversee the East Patrol Operations Division, which covers the Central Business District.

Major James Mullins will lead the West Patrol Operations Division.

The spokesman said these changes would allow Hall and Mullins to build closer relationships with the community.

The Community Services and Operations Support divisions will be merged into one division. This merger will be called the Community Services Division.

Major Chris Malson will oversee the activities of this department, which include the police academy, community engagement, neighborhood assistance and more.

These changes will come into effect on June 17.
