2 pedestrians injured, driver arrested in Walnut Creek crash – NBC Bay Area

According to police, two pedestrians were injured and a driver was arrested after a hit-and-run accident in Walnut Creek on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. in the area of ​​Locust Street near Cole Avenue.

Walnut Creek police said when their officers arrived at the scene, they found two people who had been struck by an SUV. The victims were taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police added that the vehicle involved in the accident was later found by an officer and the suspect was arrested.

“Because this investigation is ongoing, we will not release the names of the victims or the driver at this time. We will provide further updates as they become available, including any charges expected to be filed against the driver,” Walnut Creek police said in a statement.

The accident occurred near the Walnut Creek Farmers Market, which was closed during the day while police investigated the scene.
