Man attacked by dog: Woman repeatedly asked dog to “get him”

In her testimony during the hearing to determine whether there was sufficient suspicion, the woman claimed that she had threatened the victim, such as “wanting to see him dead” and “ordering a murder for him.”

HUDSONVILLE, Michigan – Court documents from a probable cause conference reveal more details about a Hudsonville woman who allegedly ordered her dog to attack her boyfriend.

Augustina Villarreal, 37, is facing charges of aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon after her 41-year-old boyfriend, a name identified as Stephen Mattias, was bitten multiple times by their dog.

Some neighbors in the 5000 block of Chestnut Court in Hudsonville called the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, May 25, to report a man covered in blood.

An Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputy responded to the call around 1 a.m. and found Mattias covered in blood, court documents say.

Mattias told the officer that Villarreal ordered her dog to attack him and that the dog bit him all over his body.

Mattias said that while he was being attacked, he started arguing with Villarreal and she kept ordering the dog to “get him.”

An initial examination showed that Mattias had deep cuts on both forearms, according to a statement from an Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputy.

The deputy also testified that “during her contact with Villarreal, she made statements that harmed Mattias, such as wanting him dead and ordering an assassination attempt on his life.”

Police arrested Villarreal for domestic violence and aggravated assault.

She was arraigned in 58th District Court on Tuesday and sentenced by the judge to $100,000 bail.

The sheriff’s office said animal control is also investigating the attack and took the dog away on Tuesday. The dog is being held pending the outcome of the investigation.

Authorities are still investigating the incident and ask anyone with information to call the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office or Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT (745368) or mosotips.com.
