A Canandaigua man could spend 20 years behind bars if convicted of receiving and possessing child pornography.

On April 26, 2024, a search warrant was executed on Joshua AbrilAlicea’s residence, during which several digital devices were seized.

While the warrant was being executed, the 28-year-old was observed with an underage girl. A later investigation revealed that he had sexual intercourse with the girl, which led to a rape charge filed by the New York State Police.

The investigation also revealed that the victim had sent AbrilAlicia several nude photos via Snapchat, which he saved on his mobile phone.

If convicted, AbrilAlicea faces a prison sentence of between five and twenty years.
