KNOXVILLE, Tennessee – A little boy was pronounced dead after the child’s family said their dog attacked him while he was lying in his crib.

Ezra Mansoor was about 6 weeks old, said Chloe Mansoor, his mother. She said the family’s husky had shown no signs of aggression in the past and other children had slept with him in the past without problems. She said the attack happened on May 24 and Ezra was pronounced dead on Thursday.

Chloe said the dog bit him for no reason while Ezra was still in his crib. She said she wants to raise awareness among parents across East Tennessee and urge them to keep their children safe. She also said the 6-week-old boy’s organs will be donated.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said it could not provide information about an ongoing investigation involving a minor.
