Man in his 70s ‘attacked by Staffordshire bull terrier’

A man in his 70s was allegedly attacked by a Staffordshire bull terrier, police said.

The victim was walking a smaller dog, which was also injured, on Turner Avenue in Lincoln on May 8.

He suffered injuries to his hands and “is receiving ongoing treatment,” according to Lincolnshire Police.

The owner of the grey Staffordshire Bull Terrier was described as a white man, approximately 1.78 m tall, with dark hair.

After the attack, which occurred between 4.15pm (BST) and 4.30pm (BST), he is said to have left the scene with his dog in the direction of Westwick Drive.

The police have checked the video surveillance in the area and are now asking witnesses to come forward.
