Reports: Former Jaguars player Brandon McManus charged with sexual assault

ESPN reports that McManus signed with the Jaguars on May 5, 2023 after being released by the Denver Broncos.

DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. – Former Jaguars kicker Brandon McManus is accused of sexual assault while on vacation in London. The Jaguars are also involved in the lawsuit.

According to ESPN, two women are suing McManus and the Jacksonville Jaguars, claiming McManus sexually harassed them during the team’s overseas flight to London last year, according to court documents.

The lawsuit was filed Friday night in Duval County Civil Court and accuses McManus of rubbing and grinding against them. They also reportedly accuse the Jaguars of failing to supervise McManus and provide a safe environment for the team’s personnel.

The Jaguars acquired McManus from the Denver Broncos in 2023, but did not extend him for the 2024 season. He was signed by the Washington Commanders, where he received a one-year, $3.6 million contract.

According to ESPN, the lawsuit states that two women worked as flight attendants on the Jaguars’ charter flight operated by Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings on September 28, 2023.

The Jaguars are also being sued by the women.

According to ESPN, the lawsuit alleges that the Jaguars demonstrated gross negligence by failing to properly hire McManus, failing to train him on inappropriate and sexual contact with flight crew, failing to supervise him during flight, failing to create policies and procedures to protect flight crew from employee sexual misconduct, and failing to enforce a zero-tolerance policy toward inappropriate behavior.
