Right-wing ‘Reacher’ fans are freaking out after Alan Ritchson calls Trump a ‘rapist and a fraud’

“Reacher” star Alan Ritchson is getting a lot of attention for some harsh words he said toward Donald Trump and his supporters.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published earlier this month, the action star explained why Christians supporting the former president confuse him.

“Christians today have become the most evil tribe,” said Ritchson, who describes himself as a follower of Jesus. “It is completely contrary to what Jesus has called us to do.”

“Trump is a rapist and a fraud,” he continued, “and yet the entire Christian church seems to treat him like he’s their poster boy, and that’s unreal. “I don’t get it.”

Ritchson’s comments went largely unnoticed by those on the right until Trump Cabinet alum Sebastian Gorka spoke about the interview last week in a segment on his “America First” radio show.

During his more than five-minute rant, Gorka told Ritchson to “shut up” about “political views” and “keep acting.”

Many conservatives appeared outraged by Ritchson’s comments and vowed to boycott “Reacher,” about a beefy, vagabond ex-army cop with a penchant for vigilantism.

While the backlash from the MAGA cult was loud, there were also many people who applauded the star for voicing his opinion.

Based on the best-selling Jack Reacher book series by Lee Child, the series has been an undeniable success for Amazon.

Last December, “Reacher” debuted its second season at No. 2 on Nielsen’s overall streaming charts, with a total of 1.2 billion minutes watched.
