5-year-old injured, 23-year-old woman arrested after Gates accident

ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – A woman was arrested on drug charges Saturday and a child was injured following a car crash on 390 in Gates.

According to the New York State Police, shortly after 2 p.m., police responded to a 911 call on a 390 accident report in the town of Gates on Chili Avenue.

According to police, the woman lost control of the car while trying to change lanes, was thrown through the air and overturned in the middle lane.

A five-year-old child was in the car and was taken by ambulance to Strong to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver, a 23-year-old woman from Rochester, was arrested and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
