Memorial Day weekend got off to a great start here on the coast, and we’re looking at another day of fantastic weather on Sunday. Severe storms could hit the region on Monday.

Tonight the skies will be partly to mostly clear. An isolated thunderstorm cannot be completely ruled out, but most of us will stay dry. Temperatures will fall to just under 15 degrees.

Sunday is another great day for a visit to the beach or pool. Temperatures will reach up to 30 degrees inland and 21 degrees on the beaches. There will be plenty of sunshine throughout the day, but there may be isolated thunderstorms.

Memorial Day on Monday will see partly cloudy skies with several storm surges. A few storms are possible during the morning rush hour, but more widespread storms are expected later in the day. A storm surge will arrive in the early afternoon, bringing with it some strong storms, and another storm surge will reach the area in the evening hours, bringing the potential for a line of strong to severe storms. Damaging winds, large hail, frequent lightning strikes, and torrential rain are possible.

After the storm on Monday, things will calm down considerably. There will be plenty of sunshine from Tuesday to next weekend. Temperatures will remain at 27 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday before falling to 21 degrees from Thursday to next Sunday.
