Portland police search for suspected car thief

PORTLAND, Oregon – Portland police are investigating after one person was injured in a carjacking early Saturday morning.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, around 4:30 a.m. near Southeast 42nd Avenue and Woodstock Boulevard, a man who had been sleeping in a car said a suspect fired shots through the closed window. The PPB said the car did not belong to the man.

The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was not shot but was injured by broken glass. The suspect then stole the car, according to PPB.

No arrests were made.
