2 trailers destroyed, goats killed after fire breaks out in Madera County

MADERA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA (KFSN) – Emergency crews attempted to bring under control a fire that destroyed two trailers and killed several goats on Friday afternoon.

The fire broke out in the area of ​​Sycamore Street and Avenue 22 1/2 in Fairmead.

According to CAL FIRE, the flames destroyed two trailers, three cars and two animal enclosures.

Five goats died in the fire and two others were seriously injured.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury but was treated and released at the scene.

The fire was contained to an area of ​​4.5 hectares and the fire department is working to extinguish all fires around the property.

Officials are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
