Two brothers arrested for raping their 14-year-old sister in Ghaziabad

Police here have arrested two brothers who allegedly raped their 14-year-old sister, an official said on Monday. Police said the brothers were arrested on Sunday following a complaint lodged at Tila Morh police station. According to the complaint, the two brothers raped their sister, an eighth-grader. They are said to have sexually exploited her last year, causing her to become pregnant.

Police said the minor girl had a stomach ache on Saturday. Her mother took her to a diagnostic center in Delhi for an ultrasound scan, where it was confirmed that she was 22 weeks pregnant, police added. According to police, one defendant is 20 years old and the other is 23 years old.

Shalimar Garden Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Siddharth Gautam said that the accused allegedly raped her in the absence of the victim’s mother. Both defendants threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the rape, he added. The ACP said a case has been registered against the accused under both Section 376D (gang rape) of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
