‘Obvious act of violence’: Caldwell police investigating dozens of shots fired Saturday

CALDWELL (Idaho Statesman) – Police are investigating a shooting early Saturday morning in which dozens of shots were fired, some hitting homes and vehicles.

According to a news release from the Caldwell Police Department, the shooting occurred around 12:30 p.m. near a mobile home park on Ustick Road. Officials said about 25 shots were fired.

Although some vehicles and homes in the area were hit by gunfire, there were no injuries, according to police.

The department asked anyone with information about the shooting to call (208) 343-COPS or contact the emergency dispatch center at (208) 454-7531.

“We will not tolerate this blatant act of violence in our city or anywhere in our great state,” Caldwell Police Chief Rex Ingram said in the news release.
