Tyrese Gibson surprised fans outside Atlanta Saturday night when he bailed on a concert.

The 45-year-old actor and singer – whose ex-wife Norma Mitchell sued him for defamation and sought a restraining order – was performing with Eric Benet at Stockbridge Amphitheater, about 20 miles south of Atlanta, Saturday evening.

Video from the concert shows Gibson on stage, when a security guard arrives and whispers something in the singer’s ear.

He continues singing but then removes the mic from the mic stand and leaves the stage and goes up the stairs.

He said something else indiscernible to the crowd before saying “I love you” several times before abruptly walking out.

Sources say Gibson had three songs left to perform when the security guard told him he was about to receive legal papers and fled.

Gibson took to Instagram on Sunday to post a brief video clip from the concert, even admitting that he almost canceled the show, despite not addressing the issue of bail earlier.

“Special day, two hours before the show, I was going to cancel because my heart was too heavy. I just didn’t think I could get through it…….’ he started.

“I have all the heartfelt love and energy from the crowd and I just want to thank you guys for coming out tonight. I bet you’re my brother from another mother, you guys are amazing!” he added.

‘I’m ready to tour with Tyrese and Eric Benet….. I think it would be BIG and SEXY beyond special.:….’ he said.

Documentary filmmaker Bryan Barber filed a lawsuit against Gibson in October 2023, following comments Gibson made about him during a September 7 appearance on The Breakfast Club.

He concluded his message by revealing that he was about to travel to Kuwait, a trip he said was “a dream come true.”

One fan commented on the post: “Why are you leaving the stage so quickly?” while another said she tried to track him down to take a photo.

“I enjoyed the show!” I tried to pass you in the parking lot to take a close-up photo. You fled in that black Mustang before I could get to you. Well, maybe next time,” the second fan said.

Documentary filmmaker Bryan Barber filed a lawsuit against Gibson in October 2023, following comments Gibson made about him during a September 7 appearance on The Breakfast Club.

Barber claimed that Gibson attacked his “character and reputation” by stating that Barber took interview footage for which he paid Barber $35,000 and was now refusing to return it.

Barber claims he and Gibson agreed to a 50/50 revenue split, but at some point Gibson backed out of that deal and is now seeking $10 million for damage to his reputation caused by Gibson’s claims.
